OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ADVERTISING . . .

Well, there isn’t one.

Kerouac’s Dog is 100% independent. The whole magazine exists purely for free creative expression and nothing else. Ever. We think that advertising would get in the way of the whole thing – spoil the momentum, you know. A magazine without advertising, we thought, is a lot more wholesome, a lot more creative, and a lot more fun.

IT’S MORE ABOUT PASSION, CREATIVITY, AND HAVING A FUCK-LOAD OF FUN THAN ANYTHING ELSE.
We’ve started as an independent, and we want to continue to be independent. Many independents around today, started off the same as we did, and have, for one reason or another, given in to advertising, and brand and organisation collaboration – mainly for financial reasons. True independence is our raison d’être. It’s a tough ideal to live by, especially when you’re totally self-funded – but it’s something we think is worth fighting for.
