Jennifer-Leigh Oprihory, a.k.a. Phoenix, is a connoisseur of carpe diem and light. Editor-in-chief of the online poetry journals Borderline (http://borderlinepoetry.info) and Anatomy + Etymology (http://aepoetry.info) and the founder/Slammaster of the Pleasantville Poetry Slam (http://pleasantvilleslam.tumblr.com), she splits her time between writing, editing, activism, publishing, life-loving, cancer research, and slam poetry.

Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a Combined Concentration in Literature and Writing, Jennifer was the 2011 recipient of the Walter J. Glospie Academy of American Poets’ Prize and her work has appeared in journals such as Four and Twenty, Breadcrumb Scabs, The Legendary, and Spoken War. A proud member of the Jersey City Slam Family (2010 & 2011 Finalist), Alpha Phi Omega Co-ed Community Service Fraternity, Inc., the 2009 NJ Youth S.L.A.M.
