The new wave beats of Globally acclaimed Swedish synthpop group, Kite will feature in an upcoming ‘Short film’ by Kerouac’s Dog Magazine.

The film, scheduled for release early in the new year, will tell the story of Kerouac’s Dog magazine from conception through to its inaugural issue earlier in the year and beyond. It will also feature many of the incredibly talented contributors who’ve featured in the print-only, ad-free creative magazine – inspired by Jack Kerouac and the 1950s Beat Generation, and featuring new writing, new design, and new photography from the creative underground.

Kerouac’s Dog Magazine says:

“It’s a coming together of everyone who’s been a part of the first 4 issues, and a celebration of everything we’ve achieved so far, and have yet to achieve in the year ahead…2012 is going to be a very exciting year for Kerouac’s Dog and its contributors. We’ve always been massive fans of Kite, and we’re delighted they’ve allowed us to use their music as an integral part of the film.”

A spokesman from Kite‘s Record Label, Progress Productions said “The guys are happy and excited to be part of this, and are looking forward to seeing the final film.”

The group composed of Christian Berg (The April Tears) and Nicklas Stenemo (Melody Club) originate from Malmo and are now based in Stockholm. Their eponymous debut EP Kite was met with Global acclaim, and they were compared to classic 1980s synthpop acts like Erasure and Yahoo. The latest EP Kite III was lauded for its original sound by Side-Line and the German Sonic Seducer, the latter marking a darker tone in this release. 

Kerouac’s Dog Magazine added “Kite have such an incredibly unique, emotional sound, we think its gona fit in really beautifully with the film.”

George Pitts is a Fine Art photographer, painter, and writer. His paintings, drawings, and photography have been shown in numerous exhibitions in the United States incl. New York at The Ledisflam Gallery; Los Angeles, at The Antebellum Gallery, and Sometimes Madness Is Wisdom Gallery, and The University of California at San Bernardino; Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois; and abroad at Gallery Gora in Montreal; and in Tokyo. In 2009, The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction selected his photograph for their “Juried Art Exhibition” running from May-July in Bloomington, Indiana.

Previously, Mr. Pitts was Director of Photography at LIFE Magazine from 2004-2007. And from 1993-2004, he was the Director of Photography at Vibe Magazine. In 2006, he was awarded The Lucie Award for “Picture Editor Of The Year.”

His writing and artwork have appeared in “S Magazine (Denmark), The Partisan Review, The Paris Review, Big magazine, One World, Vibe, aRude, Juxtapoz, Next Level: a critical review of Photography (UK), Parenthesis, and other publications. He wrote the Introduction to “Marc Baptiste Nudes” (Rizzoli pub. 2007), the afterword to photographer Tony Ward’s first book, “Obsessions” (Edition Stemmle, 1998); the critical essay for Dana Lixenberg’s monograph, “United States” (Artimo/D.A.P. 2001); as well as introductory notes for Hans Neleman’s photo book, “Night Chicas” (Graphis, 2003). In the Fall of 2003, the critically acclaimed “VX: Ten Years of Vibe Photography,” was published by Abrams Books, which Mr. Pitts both edited, and wrote the essay “Mindstorm,” that appears in the foreword.

Celestaine popped him out in St George’s hospital, South London at 9.14 pm. 11lbs 8oz. A whopper. The nurse ran up, lifted him, said, “Christ” and put him back down. He was the heaviest baby in the new ward. Immediately all the female nurses ran up to have a look. He liked that. He grinned. No teeth. All gums. His head was large and blue. His body was large and blue. His balls were just blue. Then a male doctor appeared. All the female nurses ran off. Kind of shit was that.

At school he was a high class loser. One of the best around. He never read and seldom attended classes. One time in English literature, the teacher, Miss Page, this blonde bombshell handed him a Shakespeare play. She loved Shakespeare. Everybody loved Shakespeare. Well, Miss Page really had a pair of legs so he decided to give this Shakespeare a go. Steven opened up the book and attempted to read it. It was so fucking confusing.
God damn man couldn’t write. Well, thought Steven, maybe I should give this writing game a bash. Seems easy enough. He sat down and typed off
his first short story. A masterpiece. Finishing up, he leaned back, kicked his feet up onto the desk and re-read it. The story was terrible. Worse than Shakespeare’s. He decided to retire from the writing game aged 14.
